Last night, Bethany and I were playing our normal game of sticking our tongues out at each other. It's a very satisfying game that requires very little effort on my part and, amusingly, lots of effort on hers. However, this time Bethany was distracted. You see, our furry, little, gray friend Foster was licking Mommy's hand nearby, and he had Bethany's full attention. Her eyes were wide with wonder. I can almost imagine what was going through her head.

"Just look at the size of that tongue! It's enormous! This creature must be a higher-being of some sort—evolved far beyond humans."

Clearly, Bethany has a lot to learn.
