Baby Dedication Sunday
On Sunday, May 11, we will be participating in the baby dedication at CedarCreek Church. During the 12:30 service, Dustin and I will stand in front of the congregation to promise to raise Bethany to know God and to ask for guidance in our duties as parents. The pastor will pray for us and each of the families participating in the dedication. At our church, the dedication takes the place of a baptism. The major difference the process of the two events is that baby baptisms use water, and dedications don't. There are a few theological differences between the two, but they share the sentiment of welcoming a child into the church community.
Our family and friends are invited to attend. The family ministry will reserve a limited number of seats for us and our immediate family members to sit together. Anyone else may find a place elsewhere in the auditorium. We will meet at noon in the South Atrium at CedarCreek. Please let me know by Friday if you're planning to attend so I can correct the number of reserved seats if I need to. We may try to do something afterward, depending on whether our house is being shown or if we can find a restaurant with open space on Mother's Day. ([ed.] yikes!)

Can I play the godfather? I always wanted to talk like Marlon Brando!
